Roberto Dobles Mora

Dr. Roberto Dobles Mora is Minister of Environment and Energy of Costa Rica and Rector Minister of the energy, environment and telecommunications sector. He is also President of the Governing Council of the Global Ministerial Environment Forum of the United Nations Development Programme. He previously served as Executive President of the Costa Rican Institute of Electricity and as Minister of Science and Technology.

Current scientific evidence increasingly shows that the benefits of strong early action far outweigh the costs of inaction. If we do not drastically and promptly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions now, we are risking a catastrophic disruption of the complex of interlinked environmental, economic, health, moral, political and social systems that sustain civilization as we know it.
