Álvaro de Soto

Álvaro de Soto, former United Nations Under-Secretary-General, mediated the 1992 peace accords that ended the 12-year war in El Salvador. He put together the comprehensive plan for Cyprus reunification submitted to referendum in 2004. He also served as the Secretary-General’s chief envoy for the Middle East Peace Process.
